All situations Corsi

  • The Flames were able to score twice on their power plays while posting a clean slate on the penalty kill.
  • After Calgary went ahead 5–2, they coasted to victory without really putting much pressure.
  • Wolf stopped all shots that were in close. His lateral movement remains one of the cleanest aspects in his game as he moved cross-crease with ease to make huge saves.
  • All five of the Flames’ goals came from mere feet away from the net.

5v5 Corsi

  • The Flames’ opening to the second period was strong. From killing off a penalty to scoring two goals to make it a 3–0 lead, this turned the tide of the game well in their favour.
  • Jonathan Huberdeau’s assist to Martin Pospisil isn’t one you see every day. Boxing out Canadiens goalie Cayden Primeau by turning his back to the crease, Huberdeau neatly passed it to an open Pospisil for an easy tap-in instead of trying to go for a spinning shot himself.
  • The Flames didn’t have nearly as many 5v5 shots, but they made theirs count as they got goals from in close.
  • It wasn’t the Flames’ best offensive showing, but it was enough to get the job done.
