All situations Corsi

  • As mentioned, the Panthers had way more shot attempts. This was evident by the end of the first period but sustained throughout the whole game.
  • The second period for the Flames had long stretches without any shot attempts at all which gave Florida more momentum, but Markstrom was sharp against his former team.
  • The Flames got some goals and shots off from in the slot, but were limited in their chances in high-danger areas.
  • The Panthers had a good amount of shots from in close but only scored once.

5v5 Corsi

  • With so many penalties in the game, the difference in 5v5 shot attempts looks even starker than at all situations.
  • The Flames scored the lone 5v5 goal of the game in the first.
  • In terms of shot locations, the teams were more even at 5v5, with the spreads fairly similar. The Panthers had more shots funnelled to short distances from the net on their power play.
  • Pospisil’s goal with his backhand was an absolute thing of beauty.
