The Calgary Flames announced Sunday that Jacob Markstrom has been removed from the injury reserve list and Dustin Wolf and Ilya Solovyov have been sent back to the Calgary Wranglers.
Return of the Markstrom
Markstrom was injured in practice after taking a shot to his blocker hand and fractured his finger in the process finger and has been out of action since December 4. Wolf was re-called and played a few solid games but Dan Vladar has been holding the net down and has continued to solidify his backup role on the team. Solovyov was recalled after Chris Tanev went down with an injury last week against the Colorado Avalanche, but head coach Ryan Huska alluded that Tanev could be an option for the team as early as Monday, which could be why Solovyov has been sent down.
The Flames are set to host Matthew Tkachuk and the Florida Panthers tomorrow night, so we will learn more about possible lineup decisions when they hit the ice for the morning skate.
