The Calgary Flames continued their six-game homestand and were looking to get back into the win column after dropping their last two contests. The St. Louis Blues were their opponent, and everything was looking good until, well, it didn’t. A goal in the final minute of the game handed Calgary their third straight regulation loss.

Game events
- In his return from injury, Jacob Markstrom gave up four goals on 26 shots for a .846 save percentage—not great.

- Yegor Sharangovich’s goal was his 20th of the season, which ties him with Blake Coleman for the team lead. Only 31 players in the NHL have at least 20 goals so far this year.

All situations Corsi
- In terms of shot attempts, the Flames had much better pressure as they kept St. Louis to several extended streaks without shots.
- Calgary’s second and third power plays barely had any shot attempts at all, which could have been the difference maker.
- The Flames had a good number of high-danger shots and were able to keep the Blues to the outside for the most part.
- All seven goals in the game came from afar though, with neither team converting from in close.
5v5 Corsi
- The Flames played a strong 5v5 game but were unable to capitalise on their performance.
- Special teams aside, the shot charts look even better for the Flames at 5v5 in terms of getting off good shots, but both Markstrom and Jordan Binnington were strong when facing those shots.
