Calgary Flames announce Jacob Markstrom is week-to-week, Dustin Wolf recalled

The Calgary Flames have announced today that Jacob Markstrom is officially out week-to-week after taking a puck off the hand at practice yesterday, leading to a fractured finger. In a corresponding move, the team has announced that Dustin Wolf has been recalled from the Calgary Wranglers and will join the team for the upcoming stretch of home games.

Markstrom hurt during practice

This news was always likely after Markstrom reportedly took a puck directly off an unpadded spot of his hand in practice yesterday and had to leave the ice. He did not return for practice and will now miss at least a couple of games. The Flames are slated to play three home games over the next few days before hitting the road for three games beginning on December 11.

Wolf gets the call-up

Wolf meanwhile has posted a sparkling 10–3–0 record in the AHL this year along with a .920 save percentage and 2.50 GAA. He currently leads the AHL in wins. In his one game with the Flames this season Wolf allowed four goals on 38 shots in a 4–1 loss to the Senators on November 11.

There has been no confirmation as of yet if Wolf or Dan Vladar will be getting the start in tonight’s game against the Minnesota Wild.
