Calgary Flames select Jaden Lipinski 112th overall with 2023 fourth-round pick

The Calgary Flames picked up Jaden Lipinski, an American C playing out of the WHL in 2022–23 with their 2023 fourth-round pick.

Lipinski was born on December 2nd, 2004 in Scottsdale, Arizona. He weighs in at 204 lbs (93kg) and stands at 6’4″ (193 cm).

Lipinski has played across the USA and Canada in various leagues en route to the NHL draft. His most recent season was his second in the WHL with the Vancouver Giants. This past season he was teammates with the Flames’ first-round pick Samuel Honzek in Vancouver. This recent season he posted 51 points in 66 games for the Giants, finishing third on his team in scoring behind Honzek and over-ager Ty Thorpe.

Lipinski has a huge frame already at the age of 18 and will only continue to grow as he gets older. He has the ability to play on both special teams and is a menace down low. He has the size and tools to become a useful bottom-six centre in the NHL one day.
