Flames Game Recaps

Flames Visual Recap 24: Ruzicka and Backlund each with three points in Reverse Retro win over Capitals

The Calgary Flames debuted their pedestal Reverse Retro jerseys for the first time against the Washington Capitals and they looked fantastic—both aesthetically as well as their on-ice product.

Daniel Vladar got the start and he was critical in making timely saves, and he allowed the Flames to execute their game with no worry about trailing. It was a tightly contested game as both teams scored late in the first, then Calgary got ahead early in the second. The score remained 2–1 until late in the third where the Flames extended their lead and stayed ahead.

Adam Ruzicka picked up a goal and two assists, Mikael Backlund had two primary assists and one secondary, and Andrew Mangiapane scored twice as the Flames got some much needed scoring to get their offence going.
