What are we looking for at TWC
- A hockey fan with a general understanding of the Flames, the NHL, and how they operate.
- An open mind and a willingness to learn.
- Strong critical thinking skills. The able to provide nuanced opinions about hockey and back it up with evidence.
- A basic understanding of hockey analytics is an asset. You don’t need to be able to evaluate the strengths of various models but a basic understanding of Corsi For and other statistics goes a long way (take a look at our primer here to learn more). If not, a willingness to learn more goes a long way.
- A commitment to writing a minimum of one article per week. We will support you with ideas and scheduling as required.
- Having a background in writing is an asset, but as long as you can write in English reasonably well, we can work with that.
