Calgary Flames

The Calgary Flames reassign Coronato, Wolf, Klapka, and Solovyov to the Wranglers

The conclusion of the Calgary Flames was written up as a 5–1 win over the visiting San Jose Sharks. Dustin Wolf was mere seconds away from a shutout but instead had to settle for his second Game 82 win over San Jose in as many seasons.

Wranglers gearing up for the playoffs

Just because the Calgary Flames’ season is over, doesn’t mean there won’t be playoff hockey in the Saddledome. The Calgary Wranglers are heading back to the AHL Calder Cup Playoffs and they’re getting their best players all back together to open the postseason.

The quarter of Matthew Coronato, Dustin Wolf, Adam Klapka, and Ilya Solovyov were immediately reassigned to the Wranglers after the Flames’ final game. The Wranglers have two more regular season games against the Abbotsford Canucks, and then their postseason will begin.

The Wranglers are currently seventh in the Pacific Division despite clinching their playoff spot at the end of March. With reinforcements coming in, they may just change their playoff fate if they win two more games as they could potentially leap frog the Bakersfield Condors for sixth in the division.

Good luck to the Wranglers!
