The Calgary Flames have signed Parker Bell to an entry-level contract

The Calgary Flames are heading into the 2023–24 renewed and refocused, and that includes tending to the organisation’s depth charts. While there are looming decisions to be made around their group of pending unrestricted free agents, one of their first orders of business was to sign a prospect to an entry-level contract (ELC).

Flames sign Parker Bell

Parker Bell is the latest prospect to receive an ELC, making it their first ELC since Samuel Honzek received his back in July. The AAV on Bell’s contract is listed as $857,500 over three years. Bell was ranked #8 on TWC’s 2023 prospect rankings for his impressive 2022–23 season in the WHL with the Tri-City Americans.

In 55 games, Bell notched 25 goals and 39 assists for a career-high 64 points. In the playoffs, Bell posted two goals and four assists over six games in their series against the Prince George Cougars. Unfortunately, the Americans were quickly ousted and didn’t have a prolonged playoff run.

Bell also slotted into two AHL games with the Calgary Wranglers for their final regular season games. He put up one assist in the season finale (in the same game the Wranglers clinched the top seed in the AHL) for his first professional hockey point.

Expected to return to the Americans for the 2023–24 season, Bell will look to build upon his success and elevate his status to become one of the Flames’ more offensive-minded prospects. Like in 2022–23, Bell may also feature in AHL games in the spring depending on how the season goes in Tri-City.

Congratulations, Parker!
