The Calgary Flames recall Hunt, Vladar activated, Schwindt and Wolf sent down to Wranglers

The Calgary Flames have made a few roster changes after their loss to the San Jose Sharks to kick off their homestand.

Dryden Hunt recalled, Vladar activated

In first tending to their NHL roster, the Flames recalled Dryden Hunt from the Calgary Wranglers.

In 23 AHL games this season, Hunt posted a solid seven goals and 15 assists for 22 points, placing him just shy of being at a point per game.

Hunt has featured in four NHL games this season but is still looking for his first point as a Calgary Flame, having scored for every other franchise he’s played for.

In addition to Hunt, the Flames are getting Daniel Vladar back after he was out for a few days with an injury. Vladar will back up Jacob Markstrom, but may be in line for a starter role with the Flames if more steam picks up with Calgary fielding offers for their starter.

Schwindt and Wolf sent down

To make room for Hunt, the Flames sent Cole Schwindt back down. With Vladar back, the obvious move was also to send Wolf back down as well.

Schwindt was recalled for their game but didn’t slot into the lineup. He got in practice reps with the team but was otherwise collecting a paycheque in the pressbox.

Wolf meanwhile, featured in a game where he was not at his best. It’ll act as a learning experience for the netminder as he returns to the AHL to hone his game.
