One good game, one bad game. Another good game, another bad game. The Calgary Flames have danced their way around the wild card chase and every time they gain momentum, they immediately let it dissipate to nothingness. After a huge win against the Rangers, the Flames had a big chance to make up ground in the Western Conference with a matinee against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Flames were down 2–0 and then 3–1 heading into the third period. However, before the midway mark of the final frame, the Flames tied it up at three goals apiece. Unfortunately, the Flyers went ahead once more and that’d be all they’d need to escape Calgary with two points that the home team despearately needed.
Calgary couldn’t solve rookie goaltender Samuel Ersson, while Jacob Markstrom finishes the game with yet another sub-par showing.
