Flames Game Recaps

Flames Visual Recap 7: A tight Battle of Alberta saw Edmonton eking out win over Calgary

The Calgary Flames have only been out of action for four days but it felt like an eternity. All the anticipation built up leading to the second Battle of Alberta of the season. The Flames looked to continue their winning ways while the Oilers looked to exact revenge after Calgary won the first time around.

In the first Battle of Alberta of the season, Daniel Vladar and Jack Campbell started in net, and this time around it was the opposite—Jacob Markstrom and Stuart Skinner got the nods from their teams. Both goalies were good, even great. However, the third period saw two bad goals against Markstrom, while Skinner stood tall against the Flames’ relentless onslaught. That was the difference maker as the Flames couldn’t strike back. The season series is now tied at one apiece.
