Calgary Flames make first round of cuts to their training camp roster

The Calgary Flames have announced the first round of cuts to their training camp roster.

Assignments and cuts

  • Defenseman Etienne Morin has been assigned to the Moncton Wildcats in the QMJHL
  • Forward Jacob Battaglia has been sent back to the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL
  • Defenceman Axel Hurtig has been reassigned to the Calgary Hitmen in the WHL
  • Defenceman Eric Jamieson has been sent back to the WHL’s Everett Silvertips
  • Winger Hunter Laing has been reassigned to the WHL’s Prince George Cougars
  • Defenceman Henry Mews has been sent back to the Ottawa 67s of the OHL
  • Luke Misa has been sent back to the OHL’s Brampton Steelheads
  • Luke McNamara has been released from his amateur tryout agreement.

Nothing surprising on this list as all of these players were not vying for an NHL job this season. The most notable cuts
