The Calgary Flames have just two games left on the calendar for the 2023–24 season, and it looks like Adam Klapka will get a chance to play in both of them.
The Flames recalled Klakpa from the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers earlier on Monday morning.
Klapka’s second recall of the season
This is the second callup for Klapka, his first coming on January 18, 2024. He played four games for the Flames during that recall, registering zero points and averaging 6:08 TOI.
However, in the AHL this season, Klapka has been fairly good. In 64 games, he has scored 21 goals, 24 assists, 45 points, a plus-six rating, and 88 PIMs. Most recently, Klapka has been playing in the middle six for the Wranglers, with lots of different linemates, along with power play time.
With the Flames eliminated from the playoffs, there’s a good chance Klapka gets more opportunities so the Flames can see what he’s truly like at the NHL level.
