  • The Flames had large edge in shots and faceoff wins.
  • Most other stats were fairly equal, with the exception of the Predators taking more penalties (and the Flames converting for one power play goal).

All situations Corsi

  • The Flames opened the game with a flurry and their early power play opportunity gave them momentum for three goals in quick succession.
  • Both teams were fairly close in shot attempts with the Flames holding an edge most of the game before switching back and forth in the third period.
  • Dennis Gilbert was taken down by a slew foot and left the game. The resulting penalty effectively nipped any chance of a Predators comeback, especially after the gift of goal from Kevin Lankinen misreading the play behind his own net.
  • Calgary had a good number of shots in the slot and saw four goals come from in close.
  • Nashville’s third goal was flukey as it came from outside the zone and floated in past Daniel Vladar.

5v5 Corsi

  • At 5v5, the game was pretty close, but the Flames had several lengthy stretches without any shot attempts that gave Nashville some even strength momentum. This could be attributed to score effects as well, as the Predators trailed for virtually the entire game.
  • The Flames managed to get good shot attempts off at 5v5 and didn’t take too many shots from the blue line at all.
  • Nashville looked a bit more dangerous with their overall 5v5 offence, but not by much.
