NHL Fantasy: Best streaming options for Week 9

As we enter the final month of 2023, fantasy league standings are starting to take shape. One of the best ways to get the upper hand on your opponent each week and rise up the standings is to scour the waiver wire for the best streaming options each week. Adding a player with a loaded schedule can give you the extra boost you need. Here’s some of the best streaming options for the upcoming week 9.

Michael Bunting – CAR – 32% rostered

Michael Bunting is quietly having a solid year in his first year in Carolina. The offseason addition is currently on pace for the second highest point total of his career. In particular despite a slow start to the season he’s really turned it up to close out the month November.

Dating back to November 22nd, Bunting has posted two goals and four assists for six points across five games. He’s currently skating on the Hurricanes’ top line with Sebastian Aho and on the Hurricanes number two powerplay unit. With four games this coming week including a back to back against the very average Oilers and Flames, Bunting is a perfect streamer this week.

Mason Marchment – DAL – 4% rostered

Mason Marchment has had a nice bounce back season after his underwhelming 2022-23 season. The 28 year old veteran is currently sitting on 15 points in 22 games while skating on the Stars second line with Matt Duchene and Tyler Seguin.

Across the past couple week he’s really seen his point totals come around as he’s registered 11 points across his past 11 games dating back to November 9th. He’s also racking up shots, totaling 24 shots across that span. With four games next week, Marchment is a solid easily available add to boost your forward group for week eight.

Ondrej Palat – NJ – 3% rostered

Ondrej Palat may not be the player he once was, but given the team he plays on and role he plays on that team he can still provide some decent fantasy value in a pinch. With the Devils back to full health at forward Palat has been skating on the teams second line alongside Nico Hischier and Jesper Bratt.

Over the past couple weeks he’s put up seven points in nine games, adding on 20 shots, nine hits and nine blocks. He’s also averaging right around 16:30 minutes over the span. He’s getting some man advantage time too, playing on the Devils second unit. With four games coming up next week, he’s a worthy add.

Scott Wedgewood – DAL – 5% rostered

Scott Wedgewood has long been one of the better backups in the NHL behind one the league’s elite starters in Jake Oettinger. With the Stars having four games on the docket this coming week including a back to back, Wedgewood is all but guaranteed at least one start.

So far this season he boasts a 4-1-1 record along with a .911 save percentage and 3.17 GAA. Playing behind a strong Stars team, Wedgewood will always have a good chance to pick up a win whenever he plays. Whether he gets the Panthers or Capitals in the Stars back to back, it’s sure to be a very winnable game.
