Flames Game Recaps

Flames Visual Recap: Calgary ends preseason on a low in setback to Canucks

The Calgary Flames capped off their preseason with a visit to Vancouver to face the Canucks. In the previous meeting, the Flames blew out the Canucks with a 10–0 shutout. This time around, the Canucks got their revenge.

Vancouver got off ahead early in the game, but the Flames were able to respond before the first period was up. Despite the game feeling close in terms of shot attempts, it wasn’t actually close. In fact, this game felt extremely flat for the Flames and represented everything they wanted to avoid. Shots weren’t hitting the net and weren’t particularly dangerous. The Canucks on the other hand were able to capitalise on their high-danger chances, scoring two goals right in front of the net.

The Flames will want to file this game in their short-term memory and fully focus on the regular season. They’ll host just one game at home before hitting the road for a five-game Eastern swing. Hockey. Is. Back.

Charts from the game are below.
