Flames Game Recaps

Flames Visual Recap 68: Flames playoff hopes dwindle in embarrassing loss to Coyotes

It happened yet again.

The Flames dominated an opponent on the stat sheet, didn’t generate enough scoring chances, made a weak team look fantastic, and lost in overtime. It’s almost becoming poetic at this point.

Despite Mikael Backlund, Walker Duehr, and Jonathan Huberdeau scoring for the team to even send this game to extra time, the Flames just didn’t have it last night.

Costly turnovers, far too many odd man rushes given up, and an overtime period where they didn’t generate a single shot is just not good enough against one of the league’s worst teams.

In a span of a few days, the Flames played the Anaheim Ducks and Arizona Coyotes and only were able to get one single point. This team simply cannot get out of its own way.
