Flames Game Recaps

Flames Visual Recap 15: Calgary puts up offensive flurry to win Pacific Division showdown against Kings

The Calgary Flames faced off against the Los Angeles Kings in a pivotal Pacific Division matchup. The former team had been reeling as of late while the latter has been one of the better teams in the division so far. As such, it was a critical game as the Flames needed to secure the points and build momentum before heading on their season-long six-game road trip.

For the first time this season, the Flames scored six goals in a game, and they needed all six goals for the win. Heading into the third period with a comfortable 6–3 lead, Calgary ceded two goals to the Kings to make it a one-goal game with just over two minutes remaining before closing it out. Jacob Markstrom made a huge final-minute save to keep the Flames ahead by one, otherwise it could have been another disastrous blown lead.

Luckily, the Flames walked away with two points and strung together two straight wins.
