With the 132nd overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, the Calgary Flames have selected forward Simon Katolicky.

Who is Simon Katolicky?

Katolicky is a left-shooting winger who spent the 2025–26 season playing in Finland for Tappara U20. He posted six goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 29 games. Internationally, Katolicky represents Czechia. He recently helped them capture a bronze medal at the 2026 IIHF U18 Men’s World Championship.

At 132nd overall, the Flames add projectable size to their system with the 6’5″ Katolicky. He skates incredibly well for his size and has a nice toolkit of skill.

What’s next for Simon Katolicky?

Katolicky will be making the transition to North American ice next season. He’s already signed a development agreement to play for the Sarnia Sting in the OHL for the 2026–27 campaign.
