Welcome back to our series as we check in on the Calgary Flames every seven games. This will run throughout the entire 2025-26 season, as we reflect on the team’s highs and lows during that time.
It hasn’t been the best stretch of hockey for the Flames throughout these last few games. They’re currently riding a four-game losing streak, as they continue to slip down the standings. The noise surrounding the losses is only getting louder, as the Flames’ “tank” seems to be up and running yet again.

The highs
The Flames started off this stretch on a three-game winning streak, including an entertaining victory against their provincial rivals. At one point, the team was somehow a point out from a wild card spot, but they’ve fallen back to earth as of recently. It seems like fans will never know what version of the Flames they’ll witness every game.
The lows
As mentioned, the Flames are currently riding a four-game losing streak. Dustin Wolf has started in the net throughout this entire stretch, and many wonder when he’ll experience the effects of burnout.
The Flames are looking like the team that we witnessed at the beginning of the season. Scoring has been hard to come by, and Wolf hasn’t been able to bail them out. As their struggles continue towards the Olympic break, the talk of trading veterans like Rasmus Andersson, Blake Coleman and Nazem Kadri continues to get louder.
