The NHL Department of Player Safety (DOPS) has announced that Calgary Flames forward John Beecher will have a hearing today for his punch on Michal McCarron in last night’s game against the Nashville Predators.

Beecher and McCarron had just engaged in a fight. After being pulled apart by on-ice officials, it appears that McCarron kept yapping at Beecher which prompted Beecher to throw an additional punch. Here’s the clip:
It’s likely Beecher receives at least a fine for his actions, however a suspension is also possible considering he threw the punch extremely late after the fight had ended.
