Welcome back to our series as we check in on the Calgary Flames every seven games. This will run throughout the entire 2025-26 season, as we reflect on the team’s high and low points during that time.
While the Flames did manage to notch two wins, their struggles have continued as the team sports a 3-9-2 record. They are dead last in the NHL with eight points in 14 games, which has resulted in the Flames having an ugly .286 points percentage rating.

The highs
The Flames managed to get two wins, including a dominant performance at home versus the New York Rangers. The team’s offence has woken up a bit, yet it still ranks at the bottom of the league.
For player performances, Sam Honzek got his first NHL goal against the Maple Leafs, and Nazem Kadri is still playing at a high level at age 35. There’s a reason why he’s currently leading the team in scoring, as he’s been all around it throughout these seven games. With all the trade noise surrounding Kadri, I bet he’s making a pretty good impression so far for potential teams who’d be interested in trading for the forward.
The lows
While some individual players are looking better, the team in general is still playing bad hockey. There’s a reason why the team is still in last place, as scoring is still an issue for them, besides their victory against the Rangers
One of the low points for the Flames throughout these seven games has been their roster management. Players such as Matt Coronato, Zayne Parekh and Connor Zary have all been healthy scratches during this period. This has obviously frustrated Flames fans a lot, as the team sits out young players during a so-called “rebuild.”
Dustin Wolf’s numbers have also continued to stay mediocre, having a .884 save percentage and a 3.39 GAA. However, it would be crazy to suggest that it’s his fault for that, as the team in front of him hasn’t done him any favours. It just shows that Wolf won’t be able to steal as many games for the Flames as he did last season.
The road ahead
Here are the next seven games for the Flames. They’ll be in action tomorrow, facing the Columbus Blue Jackets at home, which is also Nazem Kadri’s 1000th NHL game.
