Despite his solid position with the Calgary Flames, Nazem Kadri has been rumoured to be traded ahead of the upcoming season. Speaking on these rumours, Kadri has said that he finds the developments odd.
There has generally been a lot of excitement regarding the upcoming season and sports in general. For example, sports betting is much more common thanks to the access granted by the internet. In the past, players would have had to visit a physical establishment to have their needs met, but now, they can do so from the comfort of their own homes or even on the go. As gambling expert Jake Turner explains, the best sports betting sites Canada are on track to see record engagement in the coming months.

This is good news for Calgary Flames fans as they can potentially profit from their favorite team’s performance.
The Nazem Kadri Situation
Most Calgary Flames fans would agree that Kadri is a valuable member of the team. He is not only a leading lamp-lighter but also a first-line centre. With these vital roles on the line, it comes as no surprise that he is signed to the Flames for 4 more years. There have been no actions or statements from the team’s management which would suggest that he is being traded anywhere.
Still, this hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about a potential move and rooting for it to happen. The most persistent of these rumours is that the 34-year-old would move to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The idea behind this is that Toronto is the city where he began his career, and thus, a move back would be in order. On top of this, Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has alluded in recent times to the need for an adjustment in the roster, saying that there is some “DNA that needs to change”.
Kadri’s Response
While the speculation continues, Kadri himself has reiterated that he has no plans to leave the Flames. During a recent appearance on the Knight Shift podcast, he said that he is well aware of the rumours about him.
“It’s happened quite often over the last couple of months, so it’s a little bit bizarre just scrolling around and seeing your face pop up and name pop up. The rumour mill is pretty strong, especially around these parts. And a lot of the time, the rumours can catch some fire, and the fire turns into bigger fires. It is what it is,” he said.
During the podcast appearance, he also touched on his career with the Calgary Flames thus far, which includes 88 markers and 198 points. Not only did he express appreciation for all his achieved, but also said that he’s enjoyed the city of Calgary. From all indications, Kadri will remain with the Calgary Flames for the foreseeable future, to the delight of their fans and the disappointment of others. Hopefully, this next season will be a good one both for him and for his team as a whole.
