NHL Fantasy: Pickups and streamers for an extended week 19

With the 4 Nations Face-Off officially over, the fantasy season is back up and running. With the final stretch drive towards the playoffs among us, it’s time to lock in and optimize your lineup every night. Below are some streaming options for the extended week 19.

Matt Coronato, W – Calgary Flames

The 4 Nations break wasn’t very kind to Matt Coronato, who found himself placed on the first line and playing his best hockey of the season right before the break put a halt to that. Luckily, it looks like the Calgary Flames will continue to use Coronato on the top line after the break. He’s well worth a look given the Flames have a whopping five games on the schedule this week.

Right before the break, Coronato was on a heater, posting three goals and six points in six games between January 30 and February 8. He also logged three power play points and 13 shots in that span. As long as he’s skating on the top line and power play, he’s a worthwhile streaming option.

Jacob Trouba, D – Anaheim Ducks

If you’re in need of some category coverage from the back end, Jacob Trouba is your guy. Trouba has been racking up peripherals since joining the Anaheim Ducks, and with five games on the schedule he’ll be a great source of shots, hits, and blocks this week. In the final 10 games for Trouba before the break, he racked up 14 shots, 24 hits, and 21 blocks.

He’s not exactly a good source of points, but he did tag on four assists during that span as well. If you need a plug-and-play defenceman to tag on some categories for you this week, you can do a lot worse than Trouba.

Cole Perfetti, C/W – Winnipeg Jets

Cole Perfetti was on an absolute heater before the 4 Nations break, going on a five-game point streak over his final five games, racking up six points in that span. Across his last seven games, he has four goals and nine points. He also added on 13 shots in that span and 11 hits for a little extra added value.

Skating on the second line and second power play unit for one of the NHL’s best teams, Perfetti is in a great position to continue to succeed. With the Winnipeg Jets slated to play five times this week, Perfetti is a good pickup for fantasy teams in need of some point production, and he could be more than just a streaming option if he continues to produce like this.

Alex Laferriere, W – Los Angeles Kings

Alex Laferriere is currently skating on the Los Angeles Kings’ second line and top power play unit. He was finally starting to see some offence before the break. After returning from a four-game absence, Laferriere posted four points in his final eight games leading into the break. He probably deserved a lot more though.

In those same eight games, he racked up a ridiculous 28 shots, more than almost anyone else in the NHL over that span. That’s good for over three shots a game. With a little more puck luck, he easily would’ve had more than just one goal in that eight-game stretch. With the Kings set to have three off-night games this week, Laferriere looks like a great add to pickup some much needed help on slow nights.
