Calgary Flames

Rory Kerins, Devin Cooley, and head coach Trent Cull named to 2025 AHL Pacific All-Stars

The Calgary Wranglers will be well-represented at the upcoming 2025 AHL All-Star Classic on February 2–3. Rory Kerins, Devin Cooley, and Trent Cull were announced as Calgary’s representatives for the Pacific Division.

Wranglers continue their Pacific Division excellence

At least one All-Star player represents every team in the AHL, and the Wranglers have two for the third consecutive season. That’s right, over the Wranglers’ short and impressive history playing out of Calgary, they’ve always had multiple faces at the AHL All-Star Classic.

The incredible part is that between 2024 and 2024, two entirely new names represent the Wranglers this year, as its two previous all-stars are currently in the NHL. In 2023, Dustin Wolf and Matthew Phillips became the first-ever Wranglers all-stars. Wolf made a repeat appearance last year alongside Matt Coronato. With Wolf and Coronato in the NHL as full-timers, it was uncertain whether the Wranglers would continue their tandem representation.

New Wranglers All-Stars

Enter Kerins and Cooley.

Despite the Calgary Flames’ development pipeline seeing graduations into the NHL, the Wranglers have fared great this season and are not just first in the Pacific but are first in the league. A big part of that came from prospects finding their groove—led by Kerins—as well as the feel-good goaltending story in Cooley.

Kerins is second in the AHL with 34 points in 34 games, scoring 21 goals and 13 assists so far. Meanwhile, Cooley is leading the league in games played and wins. Over 24 appearances, he’s logged 17 wins with three shutouts, complemented by a sterling 0.937 save percentage and a 1.99 goals against average.

Cull returns as an All-Star coach

Cull’s going two-for-two as an AHL All-Star coaching select in his two years as head coach. He is currently with the Calgary Flames as an interim assistant coach while Brad Larsen is on leave. Wranglers assistant coach Joe Cirella is the interim head coach for the Wranglers alongside Martin Gelinas joining the coaching staff on an interim basis as well.

All-Star Classic set

The Wranglers continuing their all-star streak and winning ways despite various roster changes is truly a sight to behold. We’ll see how things go for the Pacific All-Stars and if they go for the three-peat.
