NHL Fantasy: Top streamers for week 12

Christmas is nearly here, which means we’re in for a short week in fantasy. With the NHL on pause from the 24th to the 26th, there are only four game days for the whole week. That means every game means that much more, with a limited amount of chances to gain points on your opponent.

With multiple teams set to play less than three times next week, here are some players worth targeting to maximize your games played.

Teuvo Teravainen, W – Chicago Blackhawks

Teuvo Teravainen may not be playing on the Chicago Blackhawks’ top line with Connor Bedard, but he’s found a nice home alongside Jason Dickinson and Ilya Mikheyev. Across the veteran’s past three games, he’s registered a whopping eight points, including seven assists.

Dating back to last Sunday, Teravainen is first across the entire NHL for points, with three more than any other player. He’s clearly found a good home on the Blackhawks’ third line and top power play unit and is worth an add with three games on the schedule this coming week.

Joonas Korpisalo, G – Boston Bruins

Joonas Korpisalo may not have had the best start to his first season in Boston, but he’s picked it up as of late with three wins in his last four starts, including a shutout back on November 21. With the Boston Bruins set for a back-to-back this coming week against the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets, Korpisalo is set to make his 11th start of the season in what should be a very winnable game.

With a limited number of games this week, goalie starts may be hard to come by. Grabbing Korpisalo for a spot start against Columbus is just about as good of a bet as you can find on the waiver wire.

Pierre-Luc Dubois, C – Washington Capitals

Pierre-Luc Dubois has found a second wind with the surprising Washington Capitals this season. Through 31 games, he currently has 22 points, 47 shots, 30 hits, and 26 blocks. In particular, over the past couple of weeks, he’s been playing point-per-game hockey, putting up nine points in nine games along with 17 shots dating back to November 30.

Currently skating on the Capitals’ second line and second power play unit, Dubois is worth an add as long as he stays hot. With three games for the Capitals next week, Dubois is worth a look if you have a spot at centre.

Nick Robertson, W – Toronto Maple Leafs

Don’t look now, but Nick Robertson is on fire since returning to the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup back on December 15. Robertson has posted a multi-point effort every game he’s played since returning, for a total of six points in three games played.

Dating back to December 15, when he re-joined the lineup, he’s currently second in the NHL in scoring. A small sample size, yes, but you can’t deny this level of production through an entire week. Also skating on the team’s second power play unit, Robertson is worth an add with three games next week.
