Calgary Flames

Rating the Calgary Flames’ take on Halloween

The spookiest day of the year has come and gone. While some may have spent the day watching Halloween movies, dressing up in costumes, carving pumpkins, or trick or treating, I decided to spend some of my day going through and recapping some of the costumes from your Calgary Flames.

We have compiled the costumes that we could find online in this post, so let’s take a look at what some of the players dressed up as.

Blake Coleman and Mikael Backlund

Mikael Backlund, Blake Coleman, and their partners dressed up as the Sadness, Disgust, Joy, and Anger characters from Inside Out. I am a big fan of this movie, so naturally, I am a big fan of these costumes. Backlund dressed perfectly and nailed the Anger pose, while I have never seen so much despair in Coleman’s face. They both executed their costumes to perfection: 10/10.

Adam Klapka

Adam Klapka dressed up as a dinosaur, I think? I am actually not quite sure, to be honest. But, if that is what he actually dressed up as, it is a very fitting costume as Klapka is a towering 6’8″, 235 pounds. Some in the NHL who have had to match up against him probably already think of him as a type of dinosaur, given how big he is; 8/10.

Check out Klapka’s costume on the third slide.

Devin Cooley

Incredible work from the Cooley’s here, as Devin Cooley dressed up as Donkey, his partner dressed as Dragon, and Tito Cooley (!!!) dressed as Baby Donkey from Shrek. I’m not sure how many of our readers follow Pop Crave on Twitter, but this deserves a post from them with the caption, “Tito Cooley stuns as Baby Donkey.”

Based on what I have seen from Devin Cooley and his personality, I am not surprised at all by how great these costumes are; 10/10.

Martin Pospisil

Martin Pospisil and his partner both dressed as the Joker, and they both did so well with their costumes. The suits, the makeup, the baseball bat, and the green hair all were executed perfectly. Pospisil is one of the most stylish Flames off the ice, so I would love to see him rock this suit to an upcoming Flames game; 9/10.

You can find their costumes on the ninth slide.

Close-knit team

Players on the team have talked about how the team’s culture is fantastic and that they are looking to have fun and build a strong culture. Based on their costumes this year, it’s clear that they are definitely having fun as a team and building strong relationships off the ice.
