NHL Fantasy: Best streamer options for Week 4

Fantasy hockey is well underway. In the first few weeks of the season, it is critical to keep an eye on breakout players and add them to your roster as quickly as possible, or you may miss out on this year’s hidden gems.

Here are the best streaming options for Week 4 of fantasy hockey.

1. Connor Zary – CGY – C/RW – 13% Rostered

7 GP – 2 G – 4 A – 6 P – 2 PPP – 0 SHP – 15 SOG – 5 HIT – 6 BLK

No sophomore slump for Connor Zary and the Calgary Flames to start the season. Zary, who could have easily been a Calder Trophy finalist last season if he had played the full year, has been incredible to start this season. On a line with the still exceptional two-way duo in Mikael Backlund and Blake Coleman, Zary is thriving and driving that line. He’s also playing top power play and has the second most individual high danger chances on his team.

The Flames play four games next week: VGK, UTA, NJD, EDM.

2. Mikael Granlund – SJS – LW – 34% Rostered

8 GP – 3 G – 6 A – 9 P – 6 PPP – 0 SHP – 29 SOG – 8 HIT – 5 BLK

This is a bit of a longer-shot player if your league is at all deep, but in the event you can grab Mikael Granlund, now is the time to do so. He is having an exceptional start to the year for the lowly San Jose Sharks, really embodying the “somebody has to score” motto.

With nine points in eight games, six of which have come on the power play, it’s truly surprising Granlund is available in 66% of leagues. He’s on the top line with William Eklund and Tyler Toffoli, playing the point on the top power play unit and regularly playing over 22 minutes a night. The Sharks are relying on him heavily, and he’s providing a ton of value.

The Sharks play four games next week: UTA, LAK, CHI, VAN

3. Ryker Evans – SEA – D – 5% Rostered

8 GP – 2 G – 3 A – 5 P – 1 PPP – 0 SHP – 14 SOG – 12 HIT – 9 BLK

Ryker Evans has a high pedigree and appears to be hitting his stride in the NHL. The injury to Vince Dunn has opened up a power play spot, and Evans has run with it. Originally drafted in the second round in 2021, Evans has put up very impressive numbers in the WHL and AHL, so his emergence in the NHL isn’t all that unexpected. He’s currently on the Kraken’s top pairing and second power play unit.

The Kraken play four games next week: MTL, TOR, OTT, BOS

4. Connor McMichael – WSH – LW – 12% Rostered

6 GP – 3 G – 5 A – 8 P – 0 PPP – 1 SHP – 12 SOG – 2 HIT – 2 BLK

Which Connor McSomething has more points this season? That’s right, Connor McMichael. He is absolutely crushing it for the Washington Capitals this season, picking up right where he left off last year. McMichael is currently skating on the second line with Pierre Luc-Dubois and potential Team Canada player Tom Wilson, as well as the second power play unit. Despite B-level deployment, McMichael is putting up insane numbers, and there’s a good chance he gets promoted because of it.

The Capitals play four games next week: NYR, MTL, CBJ, CAR

5. Nick Foligno – CHI – LW – 15% Rostered

8 GP – 3 G – 1 A – 4 P – 2 PPP – 0 SHP – 19 SOG – 26 HIT – 6 BLK

Nick Foligno isn’t the fantasy dynamo he was a decade ago, but he’s having a resurgent season of sorts in Chicago as their captain. The Blackhawks are very much a bottom-feeding team still, but there is value to be had in Foligno. He’s playing on the top line and top power play with Connor Bedard and Teuvo Teravainen, and he has cashed in at a half-point per game mark so far. What really makes Foligno valuable is his peripheral stats. He’s averaging 2.4 shots, 3.3 hits, and 6.4 faceoff wins per game. Even when he’s not scoring, Foligno helps.

The Blackhawks play four games next week: COL, SJS, LAK, ANA
