Trailing 4–1 in Vancouver to the Canucks on opening night, Rasmus Andersson found the back of the net late in the second period to breathe some life into the Calgary Flames.
Following the goal, he made his mark with an amazing celebration staring down some Canuck fans in the first row.
The Flames scored three more times in the third period and clinched a thrilling comeback win in overtime to start the season.
Rasmus Andersson starts a new taunt
Dubbed “The Razzy Death Stare” by fellow defender MacKenzie Weegar in an interview with Sportsnet’s Eric Francis, Weegar said it’s on brand for Andersson, who likes to get the crowd involved.

The Razzy Death Stare returned a few nights later when the Flames headed up to Edmonton for the first edition of this season’s Battle of Alberta.
Once again in the second period, Andersson broke through several Oiler defenders putting a puck past Stuart Skinner and again found some opposing fans to taunt with his stare-down on his second goal of the season.
That brings us to last night’s game against Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins in game one of a three-game homestand.
Opening the scoring at the Saddledome, Andersson placed himself in front of the Penguins net putting home a goal off a Justin Kirkland pass.
Following the goal, Andersson found his latest victim sitting behind the net and had some help from a Flames fan who rubbed the salt into the wound for the Penguins supporter.
Anderson is leading the way on the blue line early this season with three goals and five assists.
This has led to an unexpected start to the Flames’ season, all while enjoying some fun in the post-goal celebrations.
The Flames currently lead the Pacific with a 5–0–1 record, marking the best start in franchise history.
Scoring from the blue line
So far this season, both Andersson and Weegar have been the top-scoring defencemen for the team, each with three goals, putting them in a four-way tie for the team lead in goals.
We already saw some impressive performances last season from Weegar and Andersson, who led the team from the backend with 52 and 39 points, respectively.
The two Flames blueliners currently sit behind Shayne Gostisbehere in defenceman scoring, who currently leads the league with four goals.
As for Andersson, he is currently tied for second among defencemen with eight points alongside Victor Hedman, trailing the league leader Cale Maker by six points.
Staring at the stars
The Flames have been on possibly one of the least-expected streaks ever. The team is having fun and it’s fun to watch them too. While Andersson might have his eyes on the opposing fans, everyone else has their eyes on the Flames just to see exactly what this team can do.
