Calgary Flames

Elias Lindholm has been named as the Calgary Flames’ representative for the 2024 NHL All-Star Game

The NHL has announced the 32 team representatives for the 2024 NHL All-Star Game, which takes place in Toronto this year. The All-Star Weekend takes place from February 1–3 and will include a new-look format for the Skills Competition. The All-Star Game itself will reintroduce a drafting system, which will be sure to add some flair to the game after the divisional formats have run their course.

This season, the Calgary Flames will be sending Elias Lindholm to Toronto, making it his first time being named and NHL All-Star.

Elias Lindholm, the All-Star

So far this season, Lindholm has been one of the Flames’ players. He isn’t the leading point scorer, but has been their consistent first line centre. His 24 points has him ranked third on the team, while his eight goals have him in a three-way tie for fourth. His sixteen assists however, is good for a tie for first.

The Flames had some potential players that could have fit the bill for the All-Star selection. This includes Nazem Kadri, who’s been one of the Flames’ best players; Blake Coleman, who’s having a stellar year; Zary, who’s potentially going to finish as a Calder finalist; MacKenzie Weegar, who’s been a stalwart on the blueline; and Jacob Markstrom, who’s been putting up solid numbers—especially since his return from injury.

Congratulations to Lindholm for the All-Star nod!
