All situations Corsi

  • While the Flames had way more shots, their shot attempts were closer to the Kraken than not. It wasn’t until the Kraken went up by one that the Flames pushed for a comeback that didn’t come to fruition.
  • The Flames’ penalty kill was solid at preventing shot attempts against.
  • The Flames had a fair number of shots from in the slot but also had a lot of shots scattered all over the ice for less shot efficiency.
  • The Flames didn’t allow too many high-danger shots against either.

5v5 Corsi

  • At 5v5, the two teams were fairly even throughout the game. Again, it wasn’t until the tail end of the third period that the Flames pressed and the Kraken keeled back to defend their lead.
  • The Flames looked much less effective at 5v5 when it came to shot locations, as a lot of the shots were medium-danger at best, and were probably more low-danger than not.
  • The Kraken had several shots right in front of the crease but were unable to score on those. They did however score once from a shot coming from in the slot.
