Yegor Sharangovich scores again to match Calgary Flames franchise record

The Calgary Flames put forward an impressive effort to defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning on home ice by a score of 4–2.

Sharangovich shines with scoring streak

Though it was a solid effort from the whole lineup, Yegor Sharangovich stole the spotlight once again scoring his 11th goal of the season, the eventual game-winning tally. It was also his fifth straight game with a goal which set a new career-best goal streak for Sharangovich, and, more impressively, tied the Calgary Flames franchise record for the longest goal streak by a player in their first season with the Flames.

Sharangovich is in truly elite company. He joins Flames franchise legends Kent Nilsson and Joe Mullen with this goal streak, both of whom are top-20 in all-time franchise scoring, and played integral roles in the 1989 Stanley Cup championship season.

After a slow start, Sharangovich is quickly becoming one of the most consistent and most important forwards to this Flames team. Sharangovich is first on the team with 11 goals and fourth with 19 points. Since December 1, he is second overall in the NHL with six goals, trailing only Auston Matthews who has nine.

Sharangovich will look to set a new Flames franchise record on Monday night when the Flames host the Florida Panthers.
