Saturday December 9 2023 NHL Odds & Previews

Five Canadian teams will be in action on Saturday, and three games will be featured on Hockey Night in Canada.

The Calgary Flames will host Hockey Night in Canada’s matinee game as they welcome the New Jersey Devils to the Scotiabank Saddledome. Hot off a third period comeback victory against the Carolina Hurricanes, the Flames will look to close out their season-long six-game home stand with a win against Jack Hughes’s high-flying Devils.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will host the Nashville Predators and will be without goaltender Joseph Woll after he suffered an injury in the Leafs’ last game against the Ottawa Senators.

The Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators are also in action, facing the Buffalo Sabres and Detroit Red Wings respectively.

The December 9, 2023 NHL schedule has 11 games on the slate and plenty of betting opportunities at the best NHL betting sites including moneylines, puck lines, over/unders and daily NHL player props. Below are our December 9, 2023 NHL odds and previews.

Calgary Flames (+105) vs New Jersey Devils (-125) – 4 p.m. ET

Hockey Night in Canada’s matinee game, the Flames are coming off a win, but the Devils have won two straight and are 8–4–0 on the road. There is value to be had on the Flames however, who will be motivated to close out their home stand with a win. There is just not enough value with the Devils’ line, and the Flames have proven to be a tough out the past month or so.

Montreal Canadiens (+160) at Buffalo Sabres (-167) – 7:00 p.m. ET

Both the Canadiens and Sabres are 4–5–1 in their last 10 games, and the Sabres have not made the significant strides many expected them to at the start of the year. Great value on the Canadiens here who have unexpectedly scored well this season, especially against the Sabres who sit dead last in the Atlantic Division in terms of points percentage.

Nashville Predators (+152) vs Toronto Maple Leafs (-180) – 7:00 p.m. ET

The Predators are 8–2–0 in their last 10 games. With the Leafs losing Joseph Woll to injury last game, the Leafs are likely to start Martin Jones who has had a rocky run, to say the least. The clear value here is with the Predators.
