It was announced earlier this evening that Calgary Flames forward Connor Zary is day-to-day with a lower body injury and will not suit up against the November 22nd game against the Nashville Predators. The Flames did not disclose what the injury to Zary is, exactly.
Limited minutes against the Kraken explanation
Zary did not play much in the third period of a come-from-behind win against the Seattle Kraken on Monday night, and it left many wondering why the rookie was benched. He was banged up at some point during the game and Ryan Huska was forced to limit his minutes.
It was a shock to see Zary not taking line rushes this morning and many thought Huska was going to scratch him for a poor game against the Kraken, but obviously the injury is the major explanation as to why Zary was not playing in the game against the Predators.
Unfortunate timing for an injury
Zary has been one of, if not the best player on the Flames since his call-up at the beginning of November. The Flames have played much better since his arrival and now the team will be tested without one of their better players in the lineup with a stretch of games against some very tough opponents.
The hope is that whatever is bugging Zary is not too serious, because the Flames will need him in the lineup sooner rather than later.
