Dustin Wolf captures Aldege ‘Baz’ Bastien Memorial Award, becomes the first back-to-back winner in AHL history

The season of Dustin Wolf continues. The Calgary Flames; best prospect adds another trophy to his mantle today as he was announced as the Aldege ‘Baz’ Bastien Memorial Award as the AHL’s top goaltender in 2022–23.

He has become the first back-to-back winner of the award since the inception of the award in 1984.

Wolf exudes excellence

The award is voted on by coaches, players and members of the media in all 32 AHL cities, and Wolf was the clear winner all season long. Wolf finished the season leading every single major AHL statistical category for goaltenders: 

  • Number of wins: 40
  • Save percentage: 0.932%
  • Goals-against average: 2.09
  • Shutouts: 7

He also did this by being the goaltender with the most activity across the AHL. He faced more shots, made more saves, and played more minutes than any other goaltender in the AHL.

Adding this to his Harry “Hap” Holmes Memorial Award, which is awarded to the team that allowed the fewest goals in the AHL, Wolf has had a season to remember.

With the newest award, he also now has won a best goaltender award each of the last four seasons:
