Flames Game Recaps

Flames Visual Recap 55: Calgary’s lacklustre effort against Red Wings leads to critical regulation loss

The Calgary Flames returned to the Saddledome after a less-than-good road trip to the Eastern Conference that saw them collect four out of eight possible points.

In facing the Detroit Red Wings for the second time in as many Thursdays, the Flames had an opportunity to even up the season series. However, their time spent leading in the game was brief while their time spent trailing lasted for much, much, longer.

Calgary held the lead for just under four minutes after a shorthanded first period goal, but was either tied or trailing for the rest of the game, culminating with a 5–2 final score in favour of Detroit.

Not a good enough showing for a team meant to be in the playoff race.
