The Calgary Flames embarked on a five-game road trip starting with a game against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Jacob Markstrom started in goal for the Flames, but had a rough outing allowing three goals on 11 shots. He was pulled 35 seconds into the second period after the Flames went down 3–1, and Dan Vladar took over between the pipes.
Fortunately for the Flames, they managed to turn things around. Jonathan Huberdeau and Nazem Kadri scored in the second period to tie things at three, which is where the score would remain for the duration of regulation time. Max Domi scored 1:04 into overtime to give Chicago the win.
After a dreadful start, the Flames were lucky to pick up a point in this game. In their last 20 games, they’ve managed to pick up a point in 15 games, which isn’t bad at all.
Their road trip continues on Tuesday night in St. Louis.
