The Calgary Flames finally played their last game of their season-long eight-game homestand. Things weren’t going well for the team as of late and they were hoping to get back into the win column before hitting the road.
While the Flames got off to a good start with an early goal, the New Jersey Devils answered back with three first period markers. The Flames mounted a comeback by scoring early in the second and then again early in the third, taking the game to overtime. However, a costly penalty in the extra frame ended up leading to the game-winner going against Calgary. They picked up a point and are now 5–4–1 on the year.
