Flames Game Recaps

Flames Visual Recap 39: Winnipeg nets late third period goal to sink Calgary

The Calgary Flames looked to continue their winning ways on the road against the Winnipeg Jets. In their first game of 2023, the Jets, a top team in the conference, proved to be a very difficult test.

The game was very sleepy thought the first 20 minutes, but opened up slightly after that. The Flames got goals from Nikita Zadorov and Mikael Backlund, while the Jets got goals from Brenden Dillon, Josh Morrissey, and finally Sam Gagner with less than five minutes remaining in the third period.

It was a tough loss, and the Flames took it hard, citing sloppy in-zone play that led to their defeat. They’ll have a few days to think about this one, as they are off until Friday when the New York Islanders come to town.

Charts from the game are below.
