Flames Game Recaps

Flames Visual Recap 20: Calgary can’t solve Kuemper as Capitals shut out Flames

The Calgary Flames have been fighting to stay above .500 the whole season. Their tough seven-game losing streak earlier in the month has them on their heels, though they did hold down a playoff spot at American Thanksgiving, a critical milestone.

A season-long six-game road trip continued with an afternoon showdown with the Washington Capitals, who donned their incredible Screaming Eagle Reverse Retro jerseys in the match.

The Flames played a decent game, out-chancing the Capitals in almost every category. However, Darcy Kuemper was a brick wall and the Flames weren’t able to put a single puck past him. They were shut out 3–0, now sitting at 2–2–1 on the road trip.

They’ll try to come home with a winning record as they wrap up the trip on Saturday with a tough game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
