Flames Game Recaps

Flames Visual Recap 16: Calgary can’t muster enough offence to beat powerhouse Lightning

Riding a two-game winning streak after dropping seven straight, the Calgary Flames began a six-game road trip with a contest against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Flames played well for most of the game, but couldn’t manage to create enough quality chances to beat elite goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy. The Lightning held a 2–0 lead entering the third period. Elias Lindholm scored to cut the lead in half, but the Lightning scored a very soft goal just 10 seconds later to regain their two goal cushion.

It wasn’t a horrible night for the Flames, but it was definitely not enough to beat a team like Tampa Bay. The road trip continues on Saturday with a matinee against the Florida Panthers.
